If you work in Customer Success, the right podcast can sharpen your thinking on churn, onboarding, renewals, and leadership faster than any course. The problem is that most podcast lists online are out of date or padded with shows that stopped publishing two years ago.
This list covers only active shows with real production value and CS-specific content. Each entry includes what the show is actually about and who gets the most out of it.
1. Gain Grow Retain
Hosted by Jay Nathan and Jeff Breunsbach, Gain Grow Retain is the closest thing CS has to a flagship podcast. Episodes focus on CS leadership, building teams, and operating at scale inside B2B SaaS companies. The conversations tend to be practitioner-to-practitioner, which means less theory and more real examples from people running CS orgs. A strong starting point if you are moving into a leadership role or building out a team for the first time.
2. The CS Cafe Podcast
The CS Cafe Podcast covers the day-to-day reality of working in Customer Success — career moves, job market trends, tooling, and the kind of topics that come up in CS communities but rarely make it into formal content. Episodes are practical, conversational, and aimed at CS professionals who want context around where the field is heading. The show is produced by the same team behind TopCSJobs and the CS Cafe community, so episodes often connect to real hiring data and what companies are actually looking for. 3. Churn FM
Churn FM is specifically focused on retention — the mechanics of why customers leave and what SaaS companies do to keep them. Host Andrew Michael interviews founders, CS leaders, and growth operators about the levers that actually move retention metrics. If your work involves renewals, health scoring, or anything tied to NRR, this show has more directly applicable content than most. Episodes are well-produced and consistently useful.
4. The Customer Success Podcast by Gainsight
Gainsight's podcast has been running long enough to have an extensive back catalogue on CS methodology, QBRs, customer health, and CS operations. The production quality is high and the guests tend to be VP-level and above, so the content skews toward strategic topics. Worth listening to if you are preparing for a senior IC or leadership interview — you will pick up a lot of the vocabulary and frameworks that hiring managers at mature CS orgs expect candidates to know.
5. Helping Sells Radio
Hosted by Bill Cushard, Helping Sells Radio takes a broader view of the relationship between sales, onboarding, and customer success. It is particularly useful for CS professionals at companies where the CS and sales motions overlap, or where CS owns expansion revenue. The show has covered topics like the shift from reactive to proactive CS and how to build internal alignment around customer outcomes.
6. Success/ful by ChurnZero
ChurnZero's podcast is shorter and more tactical than most on this list, which makes it easy to work through on a commute. Topics tend to be specific: how to structure a health score, how to handle at-risk accounts, how to run a renewal playbook. If you want something focused and immediately applicable rather than long-form conversations, this is a good pick.
7. SaaS Open Mic
Not exclusively a CS podcast, but SaaS Open Mic consistently covers topics that CS professionals care about — product-led growth, onboarding design, and the evolving role of CS in the GTM motion. Worth adding to rotation if you want context beyond CS into how the broader SaaS industry is thinking about customer outcomes and retention.
Which one should you start with?
If you are newer to CS or building foundational knowledge, start with Gain Grow Retain and The CS Cafe Podcast. If retention metrics are your main focus, go straight to Churn FM. If you are preparing for senior interviews, work through the Gainsight back catalogue.
Most of these shows are free on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and their own websites. There is no reason to pick just one.
