Apple – Machine Learning Platform & Technologies (MLPT) group builds the platform that enables the next generation of intelligent experiences on all Apple products & services. MLPT makes it possible for Apple engineers to innovate ML-driven product features rapidly and at scale. The team enables future Apple intelligent products by making cutting-edge ML technologies, large-scale compute and data systems designed specifically for ML available to engineers within Apple.
We are looking for an experienced leader who wants to bring a blend of customer focus and passion for infrastructure & distributed systems to lead our efforts to increase the adoption of our platform and increase customer satisfaction. Our platform is built using a variety of systems and services, from bare metal to managed infrastructure services, and everything in between.
We use existing and open-source systems when possible, but do not shy away from rolling components ourselves. As the Head of the Customer Success group, you will work closely with many cross-functional teams and lead the planning, execution, and success of technical projects with the ultimate purpose of onboarding Apple internal customers to our platform and retaining them for the long term. This role requires strong technical expertise as well as relationship management, program creation and management, and multi-functional coordination.
Proven experience in delivering distributed systems and data infrastructure in a production setting.
Proven experience leading and growing successful infrastructure teams that consist of multiple software engineers
A passion for enabling customers/technical stakeholders to onboard and optimize their use cases
Experience managing expectations and relationships with multiple stakeholders and project teams across various functional areas
Excellent communication and leadership skills
The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills, proven infrastructure design and implementation capabilities, strong business acumen, and an innate drive to deliver results. He/she will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Responsibilities will include:

In this role, you’ll partner with data scientists and machine learning engineers across different Apple organizations to onboard them to our platform.
Education & Experience
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $196,000 and $343,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
